The Blue

Lyrics By:
Erik Libbert

Music By:
Chad Hamlin & Erik Libbert

There was a time
       Not long ago
When life felt like a dream
The love we shared
       Just you and I
              Made me feel so complete
But like so many things
       In life
              It never stood a chance
As love decays
       The Blue descends
              To wash away the past

All that I knew was shattered
       When you betrayed my trust
What do I have to live for?
Around me dreams turn to dust

I placed you before the others
You replaced me with another
In the past when I felt low
You’re the one I’d turn to
Now that you’ve abandoned me
Alone I slip into the Blue

Tied to my memories of you
Drowning I sink into the Blue

       Sinking into depression
       Sorrow it’s closing in
       Darkness slowly consumes me
       When will this suffering end?

I placed you before the others
You replaced me with another
In the past when I felt low
You’re the one I’d turn to
Now that you’ve abandoned me
Alone I slip into the Blue

Tied to my memories of you
Drowning I sink into the Blue

The day you left
       Dark clouds rolled in
              My happiness destroyed
These bitter tears
       My epitaph
              I plunged into the void
Purged of all emotion
       There’s just
              One thing left to do:
Embrace eternal darkness
       In the
              Suffocating Blue
